Hi, I'm Kathy Parkes and I help expectant and new families overcome lactation issues and meet their breastfeeding goals.
I’m a registered nurse, IBCLC and a member of the International Lactation Consultant Association(ILCA) with a masters degree in Nursing Education and a Bachelors degree in Psychology. I have been an IBCLC since 1992 and worked with mothers and babies in both the hospital and in private practice. This wide variety of experience gives me the skilled clinical knowledge that I am happy to share with you.
Additionally, I have certifications as a Health Coach, specializing in prenatal, postpartum and breastfeeding as well as compassion fatigue, perinatal and infant loss. I have provided breastfeeding assistance to different types of families, from adoptive parents to surrogate parents, LBGTQ parents, single parents, incarcerated mothers and those who are chronically ill. I am also willing to travel for teaching and presentations in the United States, Canada, Western Europe, and other locations as negotiable.

"A newborn baby has only three demands. They are warmth in the arms of its mother, food from her breasts, and security in the knowledge of her presence. Breastfeeding satisfies all three."
